Required Information
During the booking process, you will be required to provide information such as the collection and delivery addresses of where the parcel is being sent from and delivered to, along with a description of what is being sent in the parcel and its value. Furthermore, we need to know the senders email address (for the parcel label) and telephone number (in case the driver has difficulty locating the collection address). For the recipient, the email address is optional, however, we strongly advise that you obtain their telephone number as with international parcel deliveries, the driver is unlikely to call a UK phone number if the delivery address cannot be located. If you do not have the recipients telephone number, you may enter your number, but please take the prior information into consideration before doing so.
UK Parcel Delivery
We offer deliveries to the United Kingdom from providers such DHL, Parcel Force and UPS. All of our UK delivery services are generally next working day with options available for pre-1200 timed deliveries and Saturday deliveries. When sending a parcel with DHL, it will be collected directly from you. Parcel Force and UPS deliveries can either be collected directly from you, or for convenience you may drop your parcel at the Post Office (Parcel Force) or a Parcel Shop (UPS).
European Parcel Delivery
Deliveries to Europe are serviced by DHL, Parcel Force and UPS, however, we do not offer timed deliveries for Europe. Shipping times can very from as fast as next working day to several days depending on destination and the courier service used.

DHL and UPS are our chosen partners for deliveries outside of Europe, again we do not offer timed deliveries, transit times are as soon as the next working day.
Send a Parcel to the United Kingdom from Abroad
We can also facilitate the shipment of goods from over 220 countries back to the United Kingdom, however, as anything sent to the United Kingdom from overseas will be classed as an import, and as such, will most likely attract import duty, which must be paid before the courier will attempt delivery. We are unable to provide any help, assistance or estimated costs for customs charges.
Customs Documentation
Any parcel sent outside of the United Kingdom (excluding documents) are classed as an export and customs paperwork (Commercial Invoice) is required, this also includes Europe since Brexit. This important document is automatically produced by us based upon the information that you provide during the booking process.
You will receive the Commercial Invoice document along with the parcel label once checkout is completed. This document must be printed once and all three pages must be signed and placed into an envelope marked 'Commercial Invoice'. This envelope must not be sealed. The envelope must affixed to the exterior of one of the parcels in the consignment.
It should be noted that the recipient of any goods shipped outside of the United Kingdom are likely to have to pay import duty upon arrival of the goods. You should advise any recipient of potential customs charges prior to sending your parcel overseas as returned parcels are subject to a return delivery charge.
Parcel Insurance
By default, your parcel is automatically covered up to £50.00 (exclusions apply) with the option of purchasing enhanced parcel insurance up to £20,000.00 for just 2.00% of the declared value of the goods (exclusions apply). It should be noted that you can only insure parcels using the enhanced parcel insurance where there has been a demonstratable sale of goods between the sender and recipient. Full Terms and Conditions for parcel insurance can be found during the booking process.
Parcel Packaging Information
When sending any parcel, insured or not, you should also spend a little time correctly packaging your items prior to shipping. Fragile items should be wrapped in bubble wrap and placed into a sturdy box or placed into a box with packing peanuts. Either way, the item should not be allowed to freely move within this first box.
This first box should then be placed into a larger second box, which then should be tightly packed with bubble wrap, packing peanuts or similar.
Before sealing the box, it is worthwhile printing off a second copy of the parcel label and place this label into the second box so that in the event of the original label becoming damaged or detached, the parcel can be traced by the courier provider.
Once you have securely packaged your parcel, simply attach your parcel label and commercial invoice (if applicable). Your parcel is now ready to be sent!

Feline Guitars have been using this small company for a number of years and always had great service and competitive pricing. We had previously used UPS directly till it got to be hard work to communicate with them. The personal attention and help that you can get in an industry that is increasingly automated and hands-off is a welcome thing to have.

Southwell Guitars have been using Overland Express for some years now for sending our guitars worldwide. Most major courier companies do not insure musical instruments but Overland Express have an insurance service that specialise in musical instrument insurance, giving my customers and me peace of mind. I also like that Stuart and Tim are always easy to contact if there are any questions or If I need any help. This was especially helpful after the chaos created by Brexit and the Covid pandemic. Overland Express are my first choice when I am sending guitars, something I do on a regular basis and recommend them to anyone.

I've been using Overland Express now for a number of years. As I send a good number of both electric and acoustic guitars every year, I wanted to find a company that offered reasonable shipping and insurance rates that guaranteed to cover guitars against loss or damage to their true value. Step forward Stuart and Overland Express. They offer top couriers and reasonable insurance costs to send guitars worldwide. In all the time I've used them I've never once had an issue. Service is quick, reliable and it is a real bonus you are able to contact someone quickly who will deal with issues should any arise. Highly recommended.

Some of our competitors supply budget services at a fraction of the cost cheaper than our premium services, budget services can take up to 5 days to deliver vs overnight for our services, which means your customers are more likely to return, all for the sake of a couple of pounds.
The only information that we require to provide a quotation are the sender's and recipient's postcode along with the dimensions of the parcel. We don't ask for your email address at this early stage as we have no intention of sending follow up emails should you leave before completing the booking.
UPS, DHL, DPD, Parcel Force, APC, FedEx to name but a few courier providers that we have a working relationship with. These providers do fluctuate depending on what offers they can provide us with and the level of satisfaction that our customers have received from these parcel delivery companies.
The whereabouts of your parcel delivery can be instantly tracked by entering the tracking number into our courier partners web-site (links can be found on this site). The status is usually updated at every significant stage, which will allow you clearly see when the parcel has reached its final destination.
High value items are always risky to send by courier, some providers will not even accept such items let alone insure them. We offer both, we can ship expensive items worldwide and provide insurance up to £20,000.00 (exclusions apply) for just 2.00% of the items declared value.
