Other important information to consider before shipping goods to Spain:
Since Brexit, any goods shipped to Spain need to be accompanied with a Commercial Invoice, this will be automatically produced for you during the booking process. This document will be sent to you via email along with the parcel delivery label, this commercial invoice should be printed once, and all three pages signed and placed into an envelope clearly marked 'Commercial Invoice' and affixed to the parcel that you are shipping to Spain.
All items posted to Spain since Brexit, with the exception of documents, will most likely be subject to import charges, that will be liable to be paid by the recipient. You should make the recipient aware of this prior to sending a parcel to Spain as you may have to pay for the item being shipped from Spain to the United Kingdom if it is refused or otherwise undeliverable.
The parcel delivery services to Spain that we offer are only from the industry leaders, such as DHL, UPS, Parcel Force and FedEx.
Express delivery to Spain is available from both DHL and UPS, these services should take no more than 2 working days from collection to delivery, with the majority being a next delivery service to Spain.
We also have road courier services to Spain available from DHL, UPS and Parcel Force, invariably these take longer than the express parcel to Spain services, however, these can be used to send items that are not permitted to be send to Spain by air (exclusions apply). The road delivery services to Spain are also much cheaper than their air express counterparts.
Our road and air express delivery services to Spain will be collected directly from the address that you specify at the time of booking, UPS and Parcel Force Spanish deliveries can either be collected directly from you or you may take these items to your local Post Office branch (Parcel Force) or a nearby parcel drop off shop (UPS) from where they will be collected and subsequently delivered to Spain.
All services require a printer and should and regardless of direct collection from you or drop off options, your parcel to Spain must be fully packaged and sealed, the store assistants or driver will not assist you with this.
When you send a parcel to Spain, please make sure that you use a cardboard box for the outer packaging. This is due to COVID-19 handling restrictions, which require that all parcels be properly packaged to prevent the spread of the virus.
Information Required to Send a Parcel to Spain
You will need to know the collection and delivery addresses (including postcodes). The sender will also need to provide an email address (to receive the parcel label) and telephone number. For the recipient, it is recommended to supply their telephone number as it is unlikely that the Spanish courier will call a UK phone number in the event of not being able to locate the address. If you don't have the recipients phone number, you will need to enter the sender's telephone number (taking into consideration the point made above).
Furthermore, you will need to know the dimensions of the parcel (weight, height, width and depth) and the HS code(s) and value of the items that you are sending.
We maintain a selection of HS codes for items that we often send to Spain on our address details page.
Insured Parcel to Spain
What's more, we can also insure your parcel to Spain up to £20,000.00, which should give you a piece of mind when sending expensive goods to Spain (exclusions apply).
It should be noted that if you are considering using our optional enhanced insurance for your shipment to Spain, we can only insure business to business (B2B) and business to consumer (B2C) for new or used goods. We cannot insure any item where there has not been a clear business transaction (excluded examples would be loan items or items sent to remote staff members).
For individuals, we can only insure used items that have been sold, we cannot insure items such as gifts or items sent between family members or friends. Furthermore, items sent for repair etc. cannot be insured.
Essentially, there must be a demonstratable financial transaction between the sender and recipient to qualify for insurance. Full Terms and Conditions are available on the address details page, which is available after selecting your desired courier to Spain.
Packing a Delivery to Spain
We always recommend taking time to adequately pack your items that you intend to send to Spain, the rule of thumb is can your parcel survive a drop from waist height?
If you are sending fragile items to Spain, you should consider wrapping the item in material such as bubble wrap or tightly pack with polystyrene peanuts and placed into a strong box. The item should not be able to freely move around in this box. This box should then be placed into a larger box and also be firmly packed with packing peanuts or bubble wrap etc.
Before sealing the outer box, it is good practice to place a copy of the parcel label within this box. This will allow your parcel to be identified should the original become damaged or removed during its journey.
