For almost 30 years, Overland Express has been helping customers send goods to Spain. Initially in 1992, we had our own fleet of vehicles, but as times have changed, so have business practices. Nowadays, we only partner with top-tier courier industry names such as DHL Express and UPS.
Through our purchasing power with these industry giants, we are able to obtain their best delivery services to Spain at better rates than the general public can obtain. These savings are passed on to you, and we challenge you to find a cheaper DHL Express parcel delivery service to Spain than what we offer. Our extensive experience with most courier delivery services has shown that we cannot rely on budget providers. They are usually priced similarly to the DHL Express delivery service we offer, but they are usually unreliable, and their transit times can take up to a week to arrive. If you compare their transit times with our 1 to 2 day DHL delivery service to Spain, you'll notice that using Royal Mail to send a parcel to Spain takes 4-6 days, and if you use Evri, the transit time is quoted as being up to seven working days.
When you send a parcel to Spain, a cardboard box must be used for the outer packaging due to COVID-19 handling restrictions.
By default, our parcel delivery services include £50.00 of cover against loss or damage (unless specifically excluded), and additional insurance is available up to £20,000.00 (exclusions apply). All our DHL Express delivery services to Spain will collect directly from your address. However, if you choose UPS, you have the option to drop the consignment off at a local collection point.
Since the UK officially departed from the European Union (EU), sending a parcel to Spain is no longer as straightforward as it used to be. However, we have developed a system to automatically produce the required commercial invoice based on the information you enter while making your booking. We also maintain a selection of commodity codes for items that may be contained within your consignment. If your item is not on the list, you may need to visit the Gov.uk website to find the specific commodity code required.
Once you complete the booking process, you will receive an email containing the commercial invoice, which you must print all three pages of and attach them to the exterior of one of the parcels that you are sending. It's best practice to place this document in an envelope and clearly write "commercial invoice" on it, then Sellotape it to the parcel.
This service is for parcel delivery to mainland Spain and local islands only. It does not cover distant islands or Spanish overseas territories.

Packing Advice for Sending a Parcel to Spain
When sending items to Spain, you should consider how fragile or expensive the goods are that you are shipping to Spain. We always recommend packing expensive and/or fragile items in two boxes. The items should be wrapped in bubble wrap and placed within the first (inner) box. This first (inner) box should then be wrapped in bubble wrap and placed within the second (outer) box or the first (inner) box should be placed within the second (outer) box and tightly packed with packing peanuts.
It is also recommended to print a second copy of the parcel label, and place this inside the larger box, should the original label become detached or damaged the courier company will open the carton to attempt to establish the delivery address.
Doing this will marginally increase the volumetric size of the overall package that you are sending to Spain, which will only slightly increase the cost of shipping to Spain. However, this also best practice if using our enhanced insurance service as in the event of a claim, our insurer will request to see the packaging to ensure that steps were taken to prevent unnecessary damage whilst the parcel is being shipped to Spain.
In this highly competitive market, we strive to keep our costs down by not embarking on expensive advertising campaigns, which in turn allows us to offer the lowest parcel delivery costs to you.
Our Quote and Book tool will provide you with an instant price for your parcel delivery with no hidden extra charges, the price shown on screen is exactly what you pay (unless optional insurance is purchased).
We offer Express and Road delivery services from DHL, which will all collect directly from you. The courier services from UPS have the extra benefit of you being able to leave your parcels at their drop off shops.
Tracking information for all of our parcel delivery services are updated whenever there is a noteworthy event. Email and SMS notifications may also be sent to the sender and/or the recipient, service dependant.
Specifically for expensive items, we can provide enhanced goods in transit insurance up to £20,000.00 for just 2.00% of the declared value. £50.00 Insurance is provided as standard.
Should the need arise, we can be contacted via telephone, email or live chat. There are no intermediaries or convoluted call queuing systems involved, you get to speak to our customer service ageents immediately.
