All shipments booked through Overland Express include £50.00 cover as standard (exclusions apply). For those sending high-value goods, we offer optional enhanced insurance up to £20,000.00, providing robust protection for commercial or personal items.
We work closely with our insurance provider to ensure that, in the unlikely event of loss or damage, claims are processed efficiently - provided the appropriate packaging standards are met.
Post-Brexit Documentation Simplified
Following the UK's departure from the EU, sending parcels to Spain now requires a commercial invoice. Our system is designed to simplify this process:
•Your invoice is automatically generated based on your booking details
•We provide a selection of common commodity codes to assist with customs classifications
•You will receive the completed documents via email
•Simply print all three pages, place them in an envelope clearly marked “Commercial Invoice”, and affix it securely to your parcel
Note: This service is available for mainland Spain and nearby islands only. It does not include remote islands or overseas territories.
Packaging Requirements
To meet courier standards and ensure your parcel is protected - particularly if using our enhanced insurance, we recommend:
•A strong cardboard box for all shipments (required)
•Fragile or high-value items should be bubble-wrapped, double-boxed, and cushioned appropriately
•Include a spare copy of the parcel label inside the box in case the exterior label is damaged or removed in transit
Good packaging not only protects your shipment but helps ensure smooth resolution should a claim ever need to be made.
